. Making His Mark “刻舟求剑”

A man from the state of Chu as taking a boat across a river hen he dropped his sord into the ater carelessly. Immediately he made a mark on the side of the boat here the sord dropped, hoping to find it later. When the boat sped moving, he ent into the ater to search for his sord at the place here he had marked the boat. As e kno, the boat had moved but the sord had not. Isn’t this a very foolish ay to look for a sord?

A doe had lost one of her eyes, and could not see anyone approaching her from one side.

In order to avoid any danger, she alays ate on a high cliff near the sea, and looked at the land ith her good eye hen she as eating.

By this means she could see henever the hunters approached her on land.

But one hunter found out that she as blind in one eye. He roed a boat under the cliff, and shot her from the sea.
