Andy Lao is my favourite singer. He as knon as one of the Canop Four Heavenly King in Hong Kong since early 1990s. His first album entitled “Only Kno That I Still Love You“ but the one that makes his singing carer reached stellar status and then bring him his first RTHK Top 10 Gold Song Aards in 1990 as “Would it be possible“. Since then, he ould in at least one RTHK Aards Category every year till year of 2007. He also has on the “Most Popular Hong Kong Male Artist“ and the “Asia Most Popular Hong Kong Male Artist“ from Jade Solid Gold Top 10 Aards for each about 7 and 15 times. As a result, he as also entered into the Guinness World Records for the “Most Aards Won by a Canop Male Artist“.
Most of his song as in Cantonese or Mandarin, but he also sang in other languages like English, Japanese, Malay and Hokkien(Taianese). Many of his songs quickly ped the music charts, not only Hong Kong, but also in Taian, China and many different parts of Asia. I still remember his notable hits such as “The Day We Spent Together“, “The Tide“, “Fet Love Potion“, “Chinese People“, “Love You Ten Thousand Year“, “You Are My Women“ and also one of his famous Hokkien song “Best In The World“. With over 20 years’ experience dedicating to the entertainment industry, Andy Lau, an acplished actor and singer, has starred in more than 100 films. He started his career in 1981 hen recruited by Television Broadcasts Limited(TVB). The continuous and extensive exposure to cameras has assisted him in expertising his acting skills, hich in return has earned him a high reputation throughout Asia.
Major Achievement in Film
Andy’s endeavors in and enthusiasm for acting ere recognized hen he as nominated for the Best Ne Artist in the Hong Kong Film Aards in 1982. In 2000 & 2001, he as honored the Best Actor in the Hong Kong Film Aards & The Golden Bauhinia Aards. This has helped solidifying his place in the industry. In 2003 his deeply touching performance in “Infernal Affairs III” gave him his first Golden Horse Best Actor Aard. In 2006, Andy as named “Asian Filmmaker of the Year” at the Pusan International Film Festival for his contributions in the film industry and efforts in promoting ne Asian film talents. In 2007, Andy as honored the “Nielsen Box Office Star” of the Asian Film Aards anized by the 31st Hong Kong International Film Festival.
With a vie to fully utilizing his talents both in front of and behind the camera, Andy found Teamork Motion Pictures Limited in 1991. With the intent to boost the Hong Kong film industry and granting ne filmmakers opportunities to go into the industry, the Company has suessfully produced movies hich have been idely alaimed in both the local and international domains.
In 1997, the Company produced the film “Made in Hong Kong”. With the acplishment of receiving over 50 aards at festivals all over the orld, Andy and the Company have taken a big leap in their cinematic career. In 2002, Andy found another Focus Films Limited , and , in 2004, co-invested in the blockbuster “A World Without Thieves” directed by Mr Feng Xiao Gang and “Jiang Hu” directed by prominent young director Wong Ching Po . Moreover, the pany launched “Focus First Cuts” project in 2005 for Asia market.

In 2003, Lau on the aard a second time, for his physically and emotionally demanding role as “Biggie”, a monk cursed ith the ability to see the karmic fates of those around him, in Johnnie To’s Running on Karma (2003). In 2002, the Golden Horse Best Actor Aard eluded Lau by the slimmest of margins (he lost by one vote to his IA co-star Tony Leung) for Infernal Affairs (2002), but the second time proved to be the charm and Lau as finally able to add the Golden Horse to his ginormous collection of aards hen he on for his reprisal of the duplicitious triad mole Lau Kin-Ming in Infernal Affairs 3 (2003).
