神话背景
秦汉初期，女娲补天与共工触山是两个独立的神话故事，到了东汉时期，王充在《论衡・谈天篇》利用“共工怒触不周山”为背景原因，完善情节解释了“女娲炼石补苍天”中缘何天塌地陷、发生灭世灾难的理由，至此，女娲补天与共工触山，融合成了一则救世神话。
